RAISE (Resource for AI Science in Europe) is a virtual European institute launched by the European Commission in 2025 as part of its Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in Science, designed to coordinate and pool resources—such as talent, high-performance computing, data, and funding—across Member States to accelerate AI-driven scientific breakthroughs and enhance Europe's global competitiveness in responsible AI research.
The EU AI Act is a comprehensive, risk-based regulation aimed at ensuring the safe, ethical, and human-centric deployment of artificial intelligence across Europe, categorizing AI systems into risk levels (from unacceptable to minimal) to protect fundamental rights, prohibit harmful practices, and enforce compliance through the AI Office and national authorities.
